The MAX Linear Rail MLR is a linear unit for industrial robots. The MLR Precision is standardly equipped with a high-resolution Secondary Encoder. A much higher positioning accuracy is achieved through the secondary encoder. With a payload of 2500 kg, the MLR-2500 is suitable for many heavy load industrial robots in the middle payload range.

The massive construction enables highest stiffness and it is excellently suited for applications where dynamic forces occur. The linear unit is available in a length of 5 m, while the displacement path shall be ±1750 mm. The expandability to any range enables as well complete production lines to be set up as the machining of large-scale parts, as they can be found in the aerospace sectors. In the version MLR-2500 Basic, the linear unit is also available without the secondary encoder. 

The MLR is driven by two Siemens gear motors - as a master-slave version. During the positioning both motors are clamped together. This leads to a much higher rigidity. Dynamic and high-precision applications can be easily implemented, with little expenditure of time when optimizing the accuracy. For applications with very high dynamic forces, the MLR-2500 Precision is also available with a gantry drive. The occurring torques in such applications can therefore be easily compensated.
