It is equipped ex works with a high-resolution, linear secondary encoder. The secondary encoder leads to a much higher positioning accuracy. With a payload of 2500 kg, the MLR-2500 is suitable for many heavy-duty industrial robots in the medium payload range.
The robust design offers maximum rigidity and is ideal for applications with dynamic forces. The linear unit is manufactured from a single casting and is available in a length of 5 metres with a travel of ±1750 mm. The expandability to any desired range enables both the construction of complete production lines and the processing of large components, such as those found in the aerospace industry. In the MLR-2500 Basic version, the linear axis is also available without the secondary encoder.
The MLR-2500 is driven by two Siemens geared motors - as a master-slave design. Both motors are braced together during positioning. This achieves a much higher torsional rigidity. Dynamic and high-precision applications can thus be easily realised with little time required to optimise accuracy. For applications with very high dynamic forces, the MLR-2500 is also available with a gantry drive. Any torques that occur can thus be ideally compensated.
